St. Davids Peninsula

This spectacular route starts in the market town of Fishguard taking in the rocky outcrops and lighthouse at Strumble Head and the hidden beaches of Abermawr and Aberbach. It passes through the coastal village of Trefin and the quiet harbour of Porthgain. The rugged promontory of St Davids Head allows unrivalled vies over the RSPB reserve of Ramsey Island and access to the glorious white, sandy beach of Whitesands. The numerous inlets and bays on this route lead you past the Lifeboat Station at St Justinians, the races of Ramsey Sound (popular with porpoises), the picturesque harbour of Porthclais and Caerfai Bay.

As you continue, you come to the natural harbour of Solva - popular for its variety of eating places. from here the path takes you south to the impressive sandy beach of Newgale.
You can always add a day to this itinerary and take a boat trip to visit the Ramsey Island RSPB reserve.
